Today, in light of a fast paced, growing community with changing healthcare needs as well as the many advancements in healthcare and technology, The Oshawa Hospital Foundation and Lakeridge Health Oshawa's new $50 million dollar "My Health My Hospital - Building Today for Excellence Tomorrow" Campaign has never been more relevant.

More than ever before, excellence in healthcare for our community requires a lot of hard work, support and investment from many committed individuals, businesses, foundations, service clubs, organizations and government.  That is how our Hospital got its start nearly a century ago, that is what has sustained us and that is what will carry us into the future.

Excellence in healthcare comes at a hefty cost.  It isn't feasible to require our medical professionals and staff to provide the quality of care that our community and the Region of Durham has come to expect using yesterday's technology in spaces that are cramped, tight and that staff are quickly out-growing.  Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre must mirror the growth in our community and Region if we are to adequately and effectively meet its needs.

In order to have a state-of-the-art medical facility and to keep up with the advanced technology which is so essential to delivering quality healthcare, a financial commitment for the redevelopment and expansion of our Hospital and Cancer Centre from our friends, partners, community and the Region is key, otherwise, we will get left behind.

Our Hospital is on the cusp of becoming one of the largest, most progressive healthcare institutions in Ontario and you can join the ranks of individuals like Colonel Same and Adelaide McLaughlin, J.D. Storie, S.E. Lovell and the many others who helped to create the model for all other community healthcare institutions to follow.
